‘Supergirl’ Latest News: Jeremy Jordan clears Winn’s sexuality, teases character's fate, big revelations in Episode 9
The first installment of the "Supergirl" saw Winn crushing on Kara and had his heart broken by this unrequited feeling and fans have been spinning speculations that Winn could be the Arrowverse's next gay character. Although the actor portraying Winn, Jeremy Jordan, is cool with it, he admitted that Winn being gay seems unlikely.
"Someone at PaleyFest mentioned that all the Berlanti shows usually have at least one gay character, so I raised my hand to volunteer," Jordan said to TV Line. The actor totally loved the idea, further adding that "It's cool. Winn can be bi or something."
The possibility that the "Supergirl" creative team would explore into this suggestion, however, seems bleak as Jordan himself admitted. He said: "I can't see Winn being gay, not after the ludicrous amount of pining he did over "Supergirl" last season."
In another news, Jordan revealed that working with James who became the Guardian in the second season of "Supergirl" has allowed him to get over from his heartbreak. Speaking with IGN, Jordan said that probably, the big reason for his zealous works with James is Winn needs to do something that does not involve Kara.
As for his friend's transformation into Guardian, however, Jordan offered his thoughts about Winn pursuing the same track into which he becomes a hero himself. "I think Winn is conflicted about that ... [He] also get to fulfill this desire in both James and I to do something else on our own and not live in Kara's shadow."
Likewise, fans might expect a Winn-centric episode of "Supergirl" in order to develop his character more in the series. Jordan teased that the ninth episode, which is directed by Kevin Smith, will be a big episode for Winn as viewers would see the tech-expert in an action.
"We see that conflict of 'Do I hide behind a computer or actually go out and make a difference?'," Jordan divulged.
Catch up "Supergirl" which airs every Monday at 8:00 pm ET on The CW and stay tuned for more exciting updates!
