World of Minecraft Games for PS4, PS Vita & Xbox One Coming Soon: 4j Studios Release 'Minecraft' Screenshots on Next-Gen Platforms
While development for the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions of "Minecraft" are still underway and expected for release in December, 4J Studios released two screenshots of the much-anticipated game.
One screenshot was taken from the game while played on the Xbox One and the other was taken off the PS4. They also released the same photos but on their earlier counterparts -- the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.
Both of the next-gen versions are very similar in detail but there is stark difference between those and the previous generation consoles, Gamespot reported.
4J Studios, the company that is behind the development of the game for Sony and Microsoft's consoles, posted the photos to Twitter on Thursday after many of the company's followers asked to see screenshots of the game.
"Lots of people asking for PS4/Xbox One screenshots -- will post some showing the view distance increase we're currently working on," the company tweeted.
According to Gamespot, the company recently announced that, "due to save size limits," "Minecraft" for Xbox One and PS4 versions would not include infinite worlds.
However, 4J Studios also announced Thursday that it was "currently trying out a world size increase of 36 times the area of the Xbox360/PS3 world."
Last week, Wal-Mart listed "Minecraft: Xbox One Edition" for sale in December, but there is no official word on that release or the PS4 release.
The PS4 and Playstation Vita version have an expected release date for this September, Gamespot reported.
Owen Hill of Mojang had previously stated on his Twitter account that the 4J Studios team was "working on bringing Minecraft to PS4 and PS Vita."
He also apologized for the delay in another tweet, according to Epoch Times.
"Sorry for the delay, but making Minecraft happen is serious business," he said.
The next-gen versions will also allow players to save files from their PS3 to the PS4 and same with the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One.
