The recently held annual diplomatic reception in Buckingham palace paved the way to fashion and glitters as the once-secret event turned into a photo opportunity that will last forever. On the occasion of Queen Elizabeth's 90th birth year, people from all parts of the world can finally witness the beauty of royal formalities, complete with tiaras, sashes, knee-high breeches, gowns, medals and royal orders.

In a recent report by PEOPLE, Queen Elizabeth was joined by Prince Phillip, Prince Charles and Camilla with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in a royal portrait rarely provided for the public as palace officials decided to release the photo of the event last Thursday. The most stunning view is of course from Princess Kate who usually sports in casual wear together with Prince William during their foreign visits. But on this royal event, she bravely wore her Jenny Packham royal red dress the second time after wearing it first in an official state banquet last year.

Her tiara, on the other hand, is called the Cambridge Lover's Knot which was noted to be one of the late Princess Diana's personal favorites. Embellished with diamonds and pearls, the Cambridge Lover's Knot was "one of the best-known tiaras" by the Hollywood Life reports from the royal family collection. It was a replica of a 200-year-old Gothic Revival tiara owned by Mary's grandmother, Princess Augusta of Hesse, the Duchess of Cambridge.

Camilla and the Queen were equally dazzling in their gowns and tiaras, while the royal men put on their medals and sashes with knee-high breeches and garters, all befitting of a gentleman.
