'War for the Planet of the Apes' Release Date, News & Update: Apes vs Humans; Who Will Win? [TRAILER]
"War for the Planet of the Apes" is the third instalment to Matt Reeves' Planet of the Apes franchise. 20th Century Fox has released the first official trailer for the movie and it looks like a big battle between apes and humans is inevitable.
"War of the Planet of the Apes" News & Update
The "War of the Planet of the Apes" happens two years after the events of the second film, "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes." In the trailer, it would seem that a war ignited after what appears to be a misunderstanding between apes and the humans.
A voice over of the Caesar (played by Andy Serkis) says that he only offered peace. A montage of heavy artillery firing off in as soldiers and apes engage in combat. The Verge notes that the "War of the Planet of the Apes" trailer also includes a brief look at Colonel (played by Woody Harrelson), a mysterious child and the more advanced human army.
However, "War of the Planet of the Apes" is not a complete dichotomy between apes and humans. It would seem that some apes are not in favor of Caesar as the head of their race. There was also a human child who looks like it was rescued by the apes as well.
Film producer Dylan Clark told Den of Geek that "War of the Planet of the Apes" is not the end of the franchise. In fact, they won't be using the original movie as their basis for the next films.
