'Pokémon GO' Updates: 'Gen 2 Egg' Update Requires Players to Pay-to-Win
"Pokemon Go" game developer Niantic Inc. has issued a new update that makes drastic changes to the "Pokemon" hunting app. Know what will be effected and what's in store for the players this coming holidays and the year 2017.
The new "Pokemon Go" update makes it possible to transfer multiple "Pokemon" to Professor Willow in a single transaction.
The full "Gen 2 Pokemon" will be launched in the game before the year concludes and in the coming year 2017.The location-based augmented reality game will also release festive Pikachu Pokemon wearing Santa hats for the holiday season, Bustle has learned.
However, because of this gameplay update, "Pokemon Go" will no longer be free-to-play. According to Forbes, the "Gen 2 Egg" update changes the game to be a pay-to-win.
"Gen 2 Egg" update requires players to catch the seven new baby Pokemon. The only way to do so is to hatch them from their eggs.
This means that any player will pay for incense, XP eggs, lures, and an overall leg up in every aspect just to win in the game.
As for "Niantic Inc." statement Pokemon Go Niantic Labs notes, "Professor Willow has discovered Togepi and Pichu hatching from Eggs! From now on, trainers will have the opportunity to hatch these and several other Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Johto Region in Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games.
These are the first of more Pokémon coming to "Pokémon Go" over the next few months. Walk to hatch these Pokémon from Eggs, and register them to your collection this holiday season. We can't wait to see what Pokémon you've hatched!"
The international release date of a limited edition Pikachu is scheduled on December 29, 2016, at 10:00 A.M. PST.
