Apple iMac 2017 Release Date, Latest Update: Apple to incorporate VR elements? Coming with iPads on 2017?
The update to the Apple iMac line up is a releasee that is highly-anticipated among tech community and users alike considering that the latest iteration was two years ago. As recent reports suggest, the American tech giant is cooking a high performance and top-of-the line technology for the all-in-one desktop computer, thus, the delay.
Release Date
As the October event of Apple came and went with no mention of a new iMac device, speculations have it that that the earliest we could see the update is on March 2017. The delay is rumored to be because of its processor and other internal specifications updgrade that would provide the Apple iMac 2017 a virtual reality functionality.
Apple enters VR arena?
If rumors are to be believed, the Apple iMac 2017 will be sporting AMD's Radeon Polaris as a graphics card. With this built, the new iMac would be VR-ready, thus, marking Apple's first step on the VR arena, reported iTech Post. This is quite fitting considering that its competitors are also venturing into the technology.
As per Macrumors, AMD has already won a contract with Apple but the much talked-about graphics card will only be available in the 27-inch variant of Apple iMac. The 21.5-inch will reportedly use integrated graphics card from Intel
Processor and other specs
As for the processor that will be used in the Apple iMac 2017, the rumor ranger noted that the plan of Apple is not quite clear as it is rumored that it plans to integrate Kaby Lake processors. The said processor, however, is yet to be released.
Having to wait on chipmakers and suppliers, Apple might opt to go with Intel Xeon instead, as other rumors suggested. As for the external design of the computer, there is not much talk going on but could the ultra-thin slim-bodied design of Apple devices could get any thinner? Users should watch out for that.
