Theo James is the star of the "Divergent" series as Four and as David in "Underworld: Blood Wars." The actor has expressed in a recent interview that he is no longer interested in returning to the franchises citing different reasons for each of the films.

"Underworld: Blood Wars" is set to be released in the US on January 6, 2017, and Theo James' character David will return on screen. However, in a recent interview James has revealed that he won't likely see himself in the next films for the franchise.

James told TooFab that he thinks his character in "Underworld" has already used up his purpose in the franchise. He adds that in order to make way for new characters in the franchise including Bradley James, David need not appear in order to tell a new story.

As for the "Divergent" series, James also says that he won't likely return to the franchise opposite Shailene Woodley as Tris. The last film of the series, "Ascendant" has been moved to be recreated as a TV show instead of it getting a film finale.

Screen Crush notes that James said that his character, Four, is not that important to be in the concluding show as he describes the franchise to be "evolving" that actors in preceding films don't need to be in future shows. James is still thankful for his fans and the support that he got from the previous films. As for Woodley, she has been resistant to the TV finale of the "Divergent" series citing that she did not "sign up for a TV show" when she agreed to star in the films.
