Lionsgate Confirmed The Live-action Movie Of Naruto Franchise, Masashi Kishimoto & Michael Gracey Will Venture Naruto Into Hollywood Theater
Good, news for the fans of the Naruto franchise! The anime is finally stepping out and is now making its way to the Hollywood big screens. One of the most popular and longest running anime series is reported will have its live-action film wherein Lionsgate acquired the right of the series.
A Japanese magazine "Shonen Jump," confirmed that the Lionsgate just recently purchased the rights to the franchise and is now secured for a feature length film. Rumors stating that the studio is currently developing an adapted film based on the anime and the creator of Naruto has spoken out. According to ComicBook, Masashi Kishimoto has been brought just to make sure the film hits home.
Masashi Kishimoto appeared in Weekly Jump's Jump Festa wherein he revealed and had some major announcements about the future of Naruto. Kishimoto confirmed in the event the live-action of Naruto. This is not the first time to rumor the anime to hit the Hollywood theater, in fact back in 2015, July, Rumors of Naruto movie is at rife but it was revealed that the Lionsgate was in talk with Michael Gracey over the film that time.
Not until now that is was confirmed by the creator itself that his anime will venture the Hollywood big screens. Michael Gracey takes the director's chair and seeks the help of Kishimoto as Gracey currently working on the Naruto film. Kishimoto further confirmed that Naruto will be staying and will continue the realm of anime. Michael Gracey is best known for his work "The Greatest Showman" that has a background in animation and visual effects, Polygon has reported.
Reports further claimed that Avi Arad will be producing the film together with his son and Kelly O'Malley and Geoff Shaveitz will also be attached to this project. As of now, there is still no information about the official release date of the live-action movie but fans are reluctant and worried about the adaptation as the Hollywood does not have good tracking records in releasing anime projects.
