Pamela Anderson Now: Model Opens Up About Childhood Sex Abuse, Says She Was Molested
Pamela Anderson made a shocking and heartbreaking announcement at this year's Cannes Film Festival: the model and actress revealed she was sexually abused several times as a child.
"I did not have an easy childhood. Despite loving parents, I was molested from age six by a female babysitter," Anderson revealed to the guests at her launch party for the Pamela Anderson Foundation, her animal rights charity.
The Former "Baywatch" star continued with the gut-wrenching story: "I went to a friend's boyfriend's house, and his older brother decided to teach me backgammon, which led into a back massage, which led into rape. My first heterosexual experience. He was 25 years old, and I was 12."
Thankfully Anderson's husband, Rick Salomon, was in attendance and stood by her side with love and support during her startling speech, The Daily Mail reported.
Anderson's story did not stop there. She also explained that years after she had been raped at age 12, she was gang-raped by a former boyfriend and his friends.
"He decided it would be funny to gang rape me with six friends. I wanted off this Earth."
Anderson's gruesome history of sexual abuse naturally left her unable to trust the people in her life.
Fortunately for the blonde bombshell her love for animals allowed her to trust, love and care again.
"My infinity with animals saved me. It came to me naturally. The trees spoke to me," she said. "I wasn't sure why I was alive. My loyalty remained with the animal kingdom, and I vowed to protect them and only them."
The Pamela Anderson foundation continues to carry out Anderson's vow to "support organizations and individuals on the front lines protecting the environment, animal rights and human rights," as written in the foundation's mission statement obtained by Mirror UK.
Despite Anderson's horrific story, the launch party ended on a positive note; the foundation's raised more than $130,000 that night.
