ABC 'Dancing With the Stars' 2014 Cast and Partners: One Dancer May Miss the DWTS Finals
The highly anticipated "Dancing With the Stars" final performance show airs tonight, but one very important dancer may be missing.
Mark Ballas, professional dance partner of Candace Cameron Bure, was hurt on Sunday afternoon, People reported.
"Mark was seriously injured during camera blocking," a spokesperson told the magazine.
Ballas was reportedly practicing a freestyle routine with Bure at the CBS studio (where the show is filmed) when he fell.
"His shoulder popped out during a lift, and he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he was treated and released," the spokesperson continued. "It's unclear whether or not he'll be able to perform on Monday's show."
According to People, professional dancers Cheryl Burke and Derek Hough were present and went to his aide. The dancers recommended that their colleague sit out tonight, but Ballas wants the show to go on.
"Hey y'all. I'm doing alright, thanks for the love," Ballas tweeted last night.
Still, another "Dancing With the Stars" professional dancer will learn Ballas' routine just in case he cannot dance tonight.
The "Dancing With the Stars" last performance show airs tonight at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. In addition to Bure and Ballas, teams Meryl Davis and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, James Maslow and Peta Murgatroyd, and Amy Purdy and Derek Hough are the last ones standing.
"I feel that I can really be myself with Maks," Davis told People yesterday. "He pushes me to stand up for myself, whether it's in real life or on the dance floor. It's cool."
"Peta is ecstatic because it's only the second time she's been in the finals. The only other time was in her second season with Donald [Driver,] and she won it," Maslow said via his Parade blog. "It's really hard to say who the biggest competitor is. I guess Meryl, just in terms of dance ability."
"One of the things I've enjoyed most about being on this show is being able to submerge myself with a [Hough] in the weekly processing of expressing ourselves through dance and movement," Purdy told Los Angeles Times. "It has been a time of truly amazing personal growth for me that I will never forget."
