NBA Trade News and Update: Miami Heat's Goran Dragic Open for Trade for Some Reasons [VIDEO]
Goran Dragic previously played for Phoenix Suns twice, the Houston Rockets, and currently Miami Heat. He plays both position, the point guard and a shooting guard. Goran Dragic never imagined that he would be joining the Miami Heat team when he came to South Beach two years prior.
According to FOX SPORTS, at the point when Goran Dragic forced his way out to the Phoenix Suns team and traded to Miami Heat, Goran thought that he will be joining the team on the verge of contending in the Eastern Conference. After completing the third in the East and coming surprisingly close to making the conference finals last season, the Heat wind up with one of the most noticeably worst records in the NBA and very nearly hitting the NBA draft lottery for the second time in three seasons.
However, a group of sources stated that Dragic is open for a trade and Miami has sought after that option. The sources added that an early swap with Sacramento with Rudy Gay broke apart when the Heat looked for Darren Collison and the team that have examined Miami about Dragic have found the Heat open to offers. The Heat's expectation failed for this season and are bound for a high lottery pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, as NESN reported.
Dragic is a decent player and he has an average of 19.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 4 rebounds per game of this season, however, he is not a franchise cornerstone talent. The issue behind Dragic moving is that the team might be reluctant to give up great resources for a player on the wrong side of age 30 and signed up through 2020 and the salary cap hit above $17 million. With that, the compensation should only go up within a reasonable time-frame because of the league's new TV contracts.
In a recent podcast, Zach Lowe said that Minnesota Timberwolves will be a potential landing spot for Dragic. Going along with him on the show was Brian Windhorst, who specified the Orlando Magic as a conceivable destination. While this option is not being reported, yet the Denver Nuggets seems like undeniable accomplice if they were keen on Dragic. While nothing is being accounted for as inevitable, Dragic's name keeps on coming up in rumors.
