Super Mario Run Popularity Is Fading Away Due To Price Tag And Gameplay
Super Mario Run might have a tremendous success during its release. But today, it is going the other way around as its popularity is in a steady decrease.
The mobile app game was released last Dec. 15 for Apple devices. But unfortunately according to Bloomberg, as of Dec. 24, it is not anymore the highest-grossing app in the Apple Store.
Super Mario Run is on its way down
What makes this scenario highly unexpected is that just a week ago, the game was the top-grosser in 49 countries. With all of this being said, the culprit as to why it's not anymore that hot is due to its hefty price tag worth $10.
Yes, the game is initially free. But if you want to progress in the next three game levels, you have to pay the fee.
That is a different story from other games as Super Mario Run requires a payment to move on with the game. Because of it, Nintendo and Super Mario fans defected from their cause and abandoned the game due to its price.
Super Mario Run's decrease in popularity is all about the price tag
According to Daily Herald, the $10 price tag is also too high. In one of the reports, only 1 to 2 per cent of the downloaders get to buy the complete version.
But if ever the price is lowered to a minimum of $2, then this would also mean an increase in players. With this, a 20 per cent decrease from its shares is felt by Nintendo. This trend started on De. 12 up until this present time.
