One Direction Tours, Songs, Band Members & News Update 2014: Zayn Malik Purchases a New House for Fiancée's Mother
It is quite obvious that One Direction's Zayn Malik is trying his best to become the perfect future son-in-law -- he just purchased his fiancé Perrie Edwards' mother a new house.
The "Midnight Memories" hitmaker reportedly spent over £200,000 ($337,000) on a property in Dorset, South West England for his fiance's mom Debbie. He generously stepped in after hearing that his future mother-in-law wanted to move from South Shields, Tyne and Wear to the southern county, and that Edwards was going to help her paying the mortgage.
"Debbie has been saying how she's got a new house. Perrie was going to get the mortgage for her and then Zayn offered to buy it outright," a source said. "She is just moving stuff in now. It costs more than £200,000 and is a new build."
"He's a really nice chap for buying the house," the source added. "It's a lovely gesture ahead of their wedding. He gets on really well with her family."
Malik and Edwards first met each other when One Direction performed on "The X Factor (U.K.)," which Little Mix eventually went on to win. The couple has been dating for two years since then, and the 1D member finally proposed to the "Salute" singer in August 2013.
Buying the new house as a present is not a problem for Malik, since he and his 1D bandmates Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne were recently named the richest boyband in British music history, amassing a combined fortune of £70 million ($118 million) since they debuted back in 2011.
Not only did Malik buy a property for his future mother-in-law, but also he splurged on a new family house for his dear mom Trisha in his hometown of Bradford, Northern England, which can be seen in the One Direction concert film "This Is Us," which shows Trisha in tears of joy as her son presents her with the keys to her new house. "I know that you always used to say, 'I'll get you a house one day when I'm older,'" she said. "But thank you for what you've done for us. I'm so proud of you."
