Juan Mata Transfer to Manchester United News: David Moyes Hints at More Transfers on the Way
Will Juan Mata aid Manchester United in turning around its season? Manager David Moyes is certain that this will be the case. Or, at least, he hopes it will be.
"I want to build an exciting team. That's always the way I've wanted my football to be played and I've not known it any other way," he stated, according to ESPN. "I want to win and give the supporters something to shout about because I've not done that often enough."
Mata was purchased for a club-record 37 million pounds and is Moyes' second recruit. The manager is likely praying that the price he paid is put to good use and creates good results; his first major purchase was Marouane Fellaini and he has been nothing short of a disaster for Manchester United.
Moyes also noted that he is not finished restructuring the team and that he planned to make more purchases in the future.
"What I will say is that this is the first of many more to come in time. I'm looking forward to Juan being the start of it," said Moyes. "I don't think we'll have any more in January. I'm still working on it and looking to do things -- we know exactly what we'd like to do and if it changes in the last week, which sometimes it can do, then we'll try. I hope it will be the first of some new signings that will arrive, but more likely in the summer."
