'Nuestra Belleza Latina' Recap: After Winning Univision Competition Show, Queen Wants to Tackle Singing
Aleyda Ortiz knows that "Nuestra Belleza Latina" brings opportunity, and there's no better proof than Alejandra Espinoza's career.
Now, the newly crowned queen is ready to make her next move.
"I love music, writing songs and I always said that I wanted to put together a group with my sisters," Ortiz said.
Ortiz said that now that the show is over her real challenges are awaiting her. Now, she has to get this audience to continue following and identifying with her.
But it's not just her future she's thinking about.
The 25-year-old won $200,000 from the competition, and will be using the money to help her family and to donate to the Kabbalah center in Puerto Rico, which she credits with teaching her how to build a better life.
"There is a part that I want to invest in my preparation to work in different mediums of communication," she said, while sitting in the jacuzzi on "El Gordo y La Flaca." "The other part I want to donate to the Kabbalah center because I practice the discipline. Kabbalah is something that has changed my life. I believe in it because of everything I have gotten out of it. Another part of the money will go to my family, who have many expenses."
Ortiz explained that it was her sister who first got into Kabbalah, and then she and other family members also decided to join. She also clarified that she is not giving money because someone expects it or has asked for it; it's simply because she really feels thankful for what it has done for her.
Ortiz was crowned the winner of "Nuestra Belleza Latina" on Sunday, making her the eighth queen. Throughout her run, she shared her experiences with weight loss and how being bigger than what is standard for the entertainment industry once held her back.
