Rockstar Games is still on a mission to keep the virtual streets of Los Santos fair. The game developer recently announced its latest efforts to prevent cheating in Grand Theft Auto Online.

Last week, Rockstar Games confirmed that they still have their eye on those who get illegitimate RP through cheats.

"In order to keep Grand Theft Auto Online fair for everyone, we are removing illegitimate RP from the accounts of players who hacked or modded to get ahead," Rockstar Games said via its Rockstar Support page.

Yesterday, Rockstar Games had its "first round of RP correction." Its aim was to get rid of illegitimate RP dating all the way back to when the game first hit the web in October 2013. They claim that accounts that were corrected will revert back to around the same RP level as before the player started breaking the rules.

"After that, we will be running continual, automated sweeps to identify and correct RP violations," Rockstar Games added.

There is a little bit of mercy for those guilty of RP tampering. Gamers found under violation through the May 20 sweep will not be punished any further. The creator of the online version of Grand Theft Auto V will be much more stern with future violators, however.

"... please be warned: accounts found to be hacking or modding to generate illegitimate amounts of RP after 5/20/14 will be subject to further action at our discretion, such as time in the Cheater Pool or Bad Sport Pool," Rockstar Games explained. "Repeat offenders may also have their accounts reset, experience bans, or have all their GTA$ removed (other than unspent Shark Card funds)."

And as if this wasn't already the case in America's favorite violent video game, every player has the potential to interfere with others' naughty ways.
