Despite J.J. Abrams keeping all "Star Wars: Episode VII" movie news under wraps, Carrie Fisher has opted to talk about the film and dished some news on her reprisal of the Princess Leia role.

It's no secret that Fisher is just as excited as we are about the upcoming Disney and Lucasfilm project. Earlier this month, it was reported that the 57-year-old actress shed 40 pounds in order to reprise her famous role.

Fisher was 19 when she first starred in "Star Wars" in 1977.

The Guardian reported that Fisher dropped out of drama school at the time in order to focus on the film and judging from her red carpet interview at the Hay Festival in Wales, weight and school aren't the only things Fisher plans to drop when she plays Princess Leia again.

"We are doing it over again so I can get Princess Leia right this time. I think less British. I looked a little pretentious faking the accent. It was sort of a viral accent -- it came and went," she said on the red carpet.

But not to worry fans, one thing that appears to be staying is the signature Princess Leia hairdo.

"I'm fighting for the buns, but that's always what I'm doing. I think they should make an appearance if I just walked by a rocket window, and I was in buns," she joked.

Fisher may be "fighting for the buns" now, but she also admitted that the famous Princess Leia hair buns weren't always her favorite.

"I [originally] thought they were horrible, but I was 19 and I thought they made a mistake hiring me anyway. I thought if I kept very quiet they wouldn't notice. George did say to me, 'What do you think of them?' I said, 'I think it's fantastic' but I did think it was awful."

Fisher will be reuniting with original cast members Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill for the updated project that will be set 30 years after the "Return of the Jedi."

The veteran cast will join the new cast members for the movie, and though it is all an exciting experience, Fisher did reveal that in comparison to the younger cast members, she, Hamill, and Ford looked "a little melted."

"We all look a little melted. It's good to see other melted people," Fisher told the audience at the Hay festival. "And it is good to have us all in a room because it's unique. I mean, I don't suppose they have reunions for the 'Gone With the Wind' gang."

"Star Wars: Episode VII" will hit theaters on Dec. 18, 2015. Will you be watching?
