After one of Solange Knowles' most embarrassing moments was made public, she saw a rise in her sales in the United States.

Knowles was seen kicking and hitting her sister Beyoncé's husband, Jay Z, in a Standard Hotel elevator on the night of the Met Gala. Surveillance cameras caught the encounter, which was then sold to TMZ. Nielsen SoundScan data said her digital sales went from 600 the previous week to 2,000, according to In Touch Weekly.

The altercation has had an adverse effect for Beyoncé and Jay Z, who have seen a 13.5 percent drop on the secondary market, said Music Times. Tickets averaged $306.22 before the video release, and afterward it dropped to $264.73. There is still about a month until the tour begins.

The exact reason for the fight is still not clear, and possibly never will be. But Beyoncé, Jay Z and Solange released a joint statement three days after the incident.

"As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5th, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident," the statement said. "But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it. Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other and we have moved forward as a united family."

The statement went on to say that Solange was not drunk as many believed. It explained that the three were just like any other family, who also face their share of problems.

After the video went public, Beyoncé shared pictures of herself with her sister. And Solange deleted a picture of the Met Gala, though she didn't go further than that. Reports said she was deleting Beyoncé from all her pictures, which was untrue.
