'X-Men: Days of Future Past' Release Date, Spoilers, News Update: Dr. Xavier Can Walk in New Images
A few new and revealing images of the upcoming "X-Men: Days of Future Past" have been released.
The new images offer the first look of Evan Peters as Quicksilver. The image is simply a close-up of the actor in what seems to be a rather dark room; he looks a bit mysterious and possibly even troubled in the image.

The second image shows Quicksilver in full costume mode alongside Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, James McAvoy's Dr. Xavier and Michael Fassbender's Magneto. There are two things worthy of note in this image. On a superficial level, the image reveals what looks like snow. However, the major reveal in this image is the fact that Xavier is actually standing. The character was paralyzed at the end of the last film and his future self (played by Patrick Stewart) is also stuck in a chair.
The final image showcases Nicholas Hoult as the beast; he is taking down someone in the image, but it is actually difficult to make out who the person he's attacking is.
The film is slated for a May 23, 2014 release date. The movie is directed by Brian Singer and also stars Ian McKellen, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Ellen Page, Peter Dinklage, Shawn Ashmore, Omar Sy, Booboo Stewart, Daniel Cudmore, Adan Canto and Lucas Till. Anna Paquin filmed scenes as Rogue but was ultimately edited out of the picture altogether.
Singer directed the first two "X-Men" movies, but skipped out on "X-Men: The Last Stand"; the Brett Ratner movie was the most heavily criticized film in the series. The prequel "X-Men: First Class" was directed by Matthew Vaughn.
