@HiddenCash Twitter Account Is Hiding Envelopes of Cash Around San Francisco: Real Estate Investor Also Planning to Give to LA, New York
If you found an envelope with money in it, what would you do? Would you be surprised? More importantly, would you surrender it to the police? Or pocket it? Do not be surprised if you find one such envelope while walking around the Bay Area, as you might be one of the lucky individuals who will find an envelope containing free money.
An unidentified person is reportedly giving away cash in the aforementioned manner. The money is approximately $100 hidden inside an envelope and is hidden somewhere across the Bay Area. Best of all, it's a finders-keepers thing.
The person who is giving away cash, who does not want their true identity to be known, is a prosperous real estate investor. Reports say that he is somewhere between 35 and 45 years old. He is giving away money because he wanted a way to return and share his prosperity to people, who have helped him to succeed.
When interviewed by ABC News over the phone, the guy said that real estate is expensive yet people have not complained. He added that people who bought real estate have helped him and given him an affluent life. He was quoted as saying, "I wanted to do something fun for the city of San Francisco, something that would get people excited."
To let people know about the money he is giving away, he uses the Twitter account @HiddenCash. The man is also planning to give cash to Los Angeles and New York. He started this project on Thursday night, when almost $4,000 had been given away.
Those who have found the envelopes posted their cheerful photos on social media. Most of the envelopes with cash were found taped under benches, ATMs and parking meters. The anonymous giver said that he will continue with his project. The money may not be that much, but the thought of knowing that someone has a heart to share his blessings is awe-inspiring.
