Apple Could Drop Home Button For Upcoming iPhone
As and when there's a new iPhone released by Apple, things pretty much won't come to an end there. Throughout the years now, Apple iPhones have been the primary topic in debates mainly from Apple loyalists likely speculating the next big feature that they hope to see in the upcoming iPhones.
Now that Apple will be celebrating the tenth year anniversary of iPhones, the Cupertino firm seems to have planned things on a bigger scale likely developing some new features that have not yet been implemented in all these years. As days pass by, there are some new rumors about whether the upcoming iPhone will be completely free from physical touch buttons or a possible wireless charging functionality which has been pretty common for Android devices in the last couple of years.
The rumor mill is misled with a common tagline indicating the next iPhone will be the most eye-catching phone yet. That has hardly proved to be true for all these years. But, things will certainly witness a change this year according to this report from the Sunday Express which claims that Apple will finally ditch the physical home button.
Ming-Chi Kuo, the popular KGI analyst seems to believe that the iPhone 8 that's scheduled to be released later this year, will see a complete change in terms of a physical home button to be replaced by something similar to a touch bar on the new Macbook Pro variants. This was revealed from a note by the KGI covered by the Apple Insider.
A concept sketch of the iPhones that's believed to be in development is also seen. The reports also believe the current Touch ID technology will be implemented in a different way and would also support additional biometric recognition assets. With such a move, Apple will now have to find a different way to make sure the new implementation would still comply with the app store and to unlock the device itself.
