Power couple and musical heavyweights Beyonce and Jay-Z have a way sneaking up on us and releasing completely unexpected and jaw-dropping content that leaves fans wanting more.

The couple launched yet another "surprise attack" recently with the release of their "Run" faux movie trailer that dropped on May 17 as a way to promote their upcoming joint "On The Run Tour."

The impressive video featured A-list movie stars including Sean Penn, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, and Don Cheadle.

However, right when things start to escalate in the trailer, the words "COMING NEVER" flash across the screen.

Though fans won't get to see the extended movie, Elle magazine caught up with the mini movie trailer's director Melina Matsoukas to get some scoop on what went on behind the scenes in creating the "Run" trailer project.

Here's a spoiler: Matsoukas revealed that the trailer is actually the official music video for Jay-Z and Beyonce's duet, "On The Run Part II."

Matsoukas also dished that the music video was Jay-Z and Beyonce's way of standing out against the normal standards of what a music video usually looks like.

"I feel like [at this point] in Jay's career he doesn't want to just do a normal music video. So we were trying to come up with a way to visualize the song that wasn't something that we've seen before. So I came up with this whole movie trailer idea and it just kind of progressed from there. We were talking about trying to hide the fact that it was a music video, and the idea was to release this trailer for this blockbuster that you'll never see," she said.

And for those of you wanting to know who wrote the script, you can all give credit to Jay-Z.

Matsoukas explained, "So each person that would come on set, we'd introduce their character to them and have a background and a history to give them motivation for the scene. I had suggested some lines to Jay, which were not received well. I was like, 'You don't have to say this but say this.' Of course I realized that Jay is a poet. So it became what it became. And it was way better than I would have imagined. So I was like, 'For the rest of the scenes will you write the script? Cause you're a way better writer than I am.'"
