World Music Awards 2014 Winners: Wrecking Ball and Miley Cyrus Take Home Trophies
It was quite an awesome night for Miley Cyrus, as she took home two prestigious trophies at this year's World Music Awards, which took place in Monaco on Tuesday, May 27.
Before receiving the awards, Cyrus wowed the audience at the Sporting Club in Monte Carlo with an impressive perfect-pitch performance, as well as her unexpected, elegant look in a green and gold strapless dress, which was a welcome change of pace from Cyrus' usual fashion choices -- bright red lipstick and rubber leotards.
The 21-year-old pop star, who was nominated for 14 categories in total for the ceremony, was beyond excited to win two of the awards: Best Pop Video for "Wrecking Ball" and Best Female Act. After a wardrobe change, the "Adore You" hitmaker proudly stepped onto the stage to receive the awards, looking flawless in a floor-length shimmering silver gown that nicely complemented her blonde pixie haircut.
While accepting the award, Cyrus even joked about Mariah Carey, who delayed the event by more than an hour before eventually opening the show with her new track "Meteorite." "Thank God, I thought this party was never going to get started," she said.
Miley Cyrus took to her Instagram account to share a series of snapshots of herself in her gorgeous outfit with the hashtags "#wmaselfie" and "ihopethisthangairz," along with the photos posing with her brother Braison, who she took to the event as her date. "My hawt date #wukongz," she captioned the image. The singer also expressed her joy via Twitter: "#MC = me obvi @MariahCarey & Monte Carlo life is f**king grannnndddddddddd."
