NBA News: Andrew Bogut Is Expected To Join Cleveland Cavaliers After His Buyout From Philadelphia 76ers
According to recent reports, the Dallas Mavericks has traded Andrew Bogut to the Philadelphia 76ers at the deadline for Nerlens Noel. Though there was never any speculation about staying in Philadelphia 76ers, many believe that he will be bought out soon.
There have been some rumors about what player, Andrew Bogut, might be looking to join, or which team might come calling this big man. According to the CBA rules, Andrew Bogut could technically re-join the Golden State Warriors. Though many sources believe that Andrew Bogut is expected to head the other direction and will end up signing up with the Cleveland Cavaliers, reported FoxSports.
Tim MacMahon tweeted on 27th February that he has two sources confirming this news of Andrew Bogut Joining the Cleveland Cavaliers as soon as he receives a buyout from the Philadelphia 76ers.
If bought, then Andrew Bogut will be Cleveland's second center on the roster and will accompany Tristan Thompson, who is already at that position. Andrew Bogut will be the second former Maverick to join the Cleveland Cavaliers as many reports suggest that PG Deron Williams is willing to sign with them as well, reported NBCSports.
Andrew Bogut has shown less effectiveness in limited minutes this season when compared to his past record. While Andrew Bogut is still an excellent passer and rebounder, critics doubt that he has not been as productive on offense as expected. Much of his bad performance can also be attributed to Dallas Mavericks' poor start and his nagging injuries. This Australian player suffered calf, knee, and hamstring injuries with Dallas, and it still looks like a gamble for Cleveland to rely upon Andrew Bogut for a playoff run.
However, the Cleveland Cavaliers could simply rest Andrew Bogut for a longer period and integrate him into their system so that he is ready for a second championship push through the Eastern Conference.
