'Mass Effect: Andromeda' Update: More Details On Game's EA/Origin Access Trial Revealed
According to reports, "Mass Effect Andromeda's" 10-hour trial for EA/Origin Access members will enable players a limited amount of the game's story campaign. Players could spend all of their allotted trial time playing this section of the campaign over and over again, as Andromeda producer Fernando Melo revealed on his Twitter account.
Alternatively, players will also be able to access and play "Mass Effect: Andromeda's" multiplayer mode without any restrictions. BioWare has yet to say which selection of the game will be playable in the EA/Origin Access trial, but many expect that it would be the role-player's eye-catching opening mission.
After being tested by several game enthusiasts last month, many were impressed by how Andromeda's opening has set the scene and has immediately plunged players into trouble. According to GameSpot, there's a direct path through this mission, although it is set across a very wide area.
There's also a lot of distractions should a player want to wander off the beaten path, including a couple of side-missions to undertake. Fernando Melo also showed some of the rewards that players will be awarded at the end for their single-player campaign by delving into Andromeda's multiplayer.
Completing multiplayer missions will then unlock "Pathfinder Rewards", consisting of loot boxes. One screenshot coming from Eurogamer showed two different types: the Research Data Loot Box and the Gold Item Loot Box.
However, BioWare hasn't confirmed what these will box will be containing, but many guess that they would include stacks of useful crafting materials since players would end up with an inventory full of them pretty quickly.
Melo has later clarified that these were boxes of random rewards and there would be no microtransactions in single-player. In fact, players may be able to obtain these rewards without even playing multiplayer at all.
"Mass Effect: Andromeda" will officially launch in North America on 21st March, and in the UK on the 23rd of March. It's EA/Origin Access trial, on the other hand, will begin on the 16th of March.
