‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Spoilers: Princess Leia To Feature In Episode 8; Plot Details Leaked
Carrie Fisher, the famous general Leia Organa, passed away in Dec. 2016, raising a doubt in the mind of production house to either write off her iconic character in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" or recreate her digitally for forthcoming installments.
According to Mirror, Lucasfilm released a statement officially denying the claims that they will not digitally recreate Princess Leia's character for their future films, confirming that Major Leia Organa will not be a part of "Star Wars Episode 9." However, the fans wondered about the upcoming installment of the franchise and the actress' appearance in the film.
In another report by the same publication, "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" news confirmed that even though Carrie Fisher's sad demise was a blow to the film, the post-production of her scenes was already complete and that the fans will be able to see their favorite character one last time.
Meanwhile, recent "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" spoilers indicate that the film's script was already leaked last year by a Reddit user. While it doesn't mean that the script is genuine, it does feature a plausible storyline.
According to "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" leaked script, even though Rey, Finn and Kylo Ren have parts in equal measure, their stories will not intersect until the third act of the film. Moreover, during her training, Rey will discover that she is an incarnation of Anakin Skywalker, thus Luke's father. Meanwhile, Kylo Ren captures Finn and brutalizes him to give up Rey's location. The leaked script also suggests that Obi Wan Kenobi may return in the film.
In another report, Disney CEO Bob Iger was given an early screening of the upcoming "Star Wars Episode 8." Soon after watching the early cut, journalist Hannah Sampson, associate editor of Skift, quoted Iger on Twitter "Perk of being @WaltDisneyCo CEO: seeing The Last Jedi early." She also added, "Bob Iger calls it 'a great next chapter in the iconic Skywalker family saga,'" Express reported.
Even though the tweet doesn't give much away, it does suggest that Rey may be a Skywalker after all, a speculation that aligns with the leaked script. However, she may also be the daughter, a much likely explanation. "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is scheduled to release on Dec. 15, 2017.
