'Kong: Skull Island' Latest News: Details On Possible Sequel Revealed
The great giant ape has come back to the big screens after a 12-year hiatus following 2005's "King Kong." The film is the second film in MonsterVerse planned by Universal. The first film is the 2014's "Godzilla" and even though it didn't show any traces of Kong, the recent film, "Kong: Skull Island" did show something that has kept fans hooked.
According to Thrillist, the "Kong:Skull Island" made a mark for the upcoming Universal Studios kaiju films. The term kaiju refers to "strange monsters" and now that the film has commenced in worldwide theaters it was revealed on the credits some of the threats or monsters to be revealed in Monsterverse by Universal. Some of these are Ghidorah, Godzilla and Radon. The three are known to have been foe and friends of Godzilla in previous films involving the 350-foot monster.
Hollywood Reporter reported that the glimpse was seen in the cave paintings and provided them details. Godzilla is set to battle with King Kong in the upcoming 2020 film, "Godzilla vs Kong" for the King of Monsters, but still, it is unknown if that would be the sequel to "Kong: Skull Island."
There is also King Ghidorah, the three-headed beast with a body of a dragon and head of hydra. The monster has been featured in earlier versions of Godzilla. Rodan is another monster to have been seen in the film. Rodan is a pteranodon and the records of Rodan has been switching sides to being a friend and foe.
Lastly, Mothra, the monster is a super-powered butterfly and has been wrongly featured as a moth. She is a rare female monster with humanoid companions called fairies. Mothra is the most known among the three others having featured in more than 12 films and now in "Kong: Skull Island."
While it is still vague on who will be seen in the upcoming film sequel, fans should keep and stay updated to news regarding "Kong: Skull Island" as it is released now. Meanwhile, "Godzilla: King of Monsters" is slated to hit theaters in May 2019.
