'The Batman' Update: Productions Won’t Start Until 2018 Due To Director’s Commitment
The Batman is a very successful franchise started decades ago and has been played by five different actors. After the release of last year's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice," the Warner Bros. decided to declare that a solo film will also be released and stars Ben Affleck in "Batman." Now, the film is being eyed to be a masterpiece following Affleck's involvement in 2012's "Argo" but, according to recent news, the film won't start until the director is free from other projects.
The Movie Web reported that even with great casting and great director, the "Batman" won't hit pre production until 2018. The reason is that director Matt Reeves is still not free from the commitment he had with the third installment of "The Planet of the Apes." Following the nearing release of the third ape film, the director is surely busy handling press and media in the next three months. The film is set to hit in July and the director will want to keep his hands on for the release.
Moreover, Comic Book reported that Justin Kroll, Dc Comics Insider and Variety reporter, divulged that Reeves' contract with the "War for the Planet of the Apes" is going to be until June. That would indicate that the director couldn't meet with the talents for the "Batman" solo film. Also, news referring to new talents being casted to the film must be only hoax for now. Nonetheless, there is the casting of Ben Affleck as Batman and Joe Manganiello as Deathstroke. With that, it is definite that there will be no pre-production until the July maybe or after the release of the "War for the Planet of Apes" in the worldwide theaters before Reeves can work full time to the "Batman."
"Batman" is an upcoming film starring Ben Affleck and Joe Manganiello and directed by Matt Reeves. There is still no definite release date but the pre production should start in 2018. Stay tuned for more updates.
