Everyone's praising the "Star Wars" franchise, and we can honestly say we're not surprised.

"Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back " has recently earned the title of Greatest Film of All Time by movie fans, Express UK reported.

Film fans were asked to participate in a voting poll by Empire Magazine to decide what film would take the coveted title and more than 250,000 fans voted Star Wars.

According to Express UK, the Empire list contained 301 movie titles in total including movie classics such as "Pulp Fiction," "Jaws" and "The Godfather."

But as we now know, "Star Wars" prevailed among the rest.

Congrats, "Star Wars!" We're sure "Star Wars" fans are beaming with joy right about now.

So what does the "Star Wars" creator, George Lucas have to say about the amazing feat?

Lucas responded by saying it was a "privilege" to see the film take first place in the poll. 

"The fans like 'The Empire Strikes Back' the best, partly because it is so dark," Lucas said. "It's an overall story, and as it happens in the second act, things get dark. I never really planned it to be three separate films, but when it became three separate films, it had an interesting effect of each film having its own personality caused by the plot."

Another person who is just as excited as the fans about the "Star Wars" franchise is "Star Wars Episode VII" actor, Adam Driver.  

Contactmusic.com reported that the 30-year-old actor said to Empire Magazine that getting cast in the highly anticipated upcoming film was a bit of a surreal experience for him.

"You grew up watching something and then suddenly you're in the midst of all those characters with them talking to each other," Driver said. "You want to make R2-D2 noises and lightsaber whooshes -- but nobody actually did.''
