OK Foods Chicken Products With ‘P-7092’ USDA Mark Of Inspection Suspected Of Possible Metal Contamination
OK Foods recall over 930,000 pounds of chicken products that are suspected of possible metal and other materials contamination. The recall was in response to consumer complaints that there were metal objects found inside packages of OK Food "ready-to-eat" chicken. This large volume of breaded chicken products contain number 'P-7092' USDA mark of inspection and has been distributed all over the United States.
The OK Foods recall pertained to a batch of ready-to-eat chicken products that were manufactured from December 19, 2016 to March 7, 2017, NBC New York reported. A complete list of OK Food products were provided the USDA and this list included food items like 10-pound packages of "Smart Foods4Schools ABC - 123 Shaped Nuggets with Rib Meat" with case code 133002, 10-pound packages of "Smart Foods4Schools Breaded Fully Cooked Chicken Patties Star Shaped Nuggets with Rib Meat" with case code 133003, 10-pound packages of "Smart Foods4Schools Breaded Fully Cooked Chicken Patties Heart Shaped Nuggets with Rib Meat" with case code 133008, 30-pound packages of "Chickentopia Fully Cooked Breaded Tender Shaped Chicken Breast Patties with Rib Meat" with case code 133015 and 21-pound case of 12/28 oz. packages of "Farmington Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Nuggets" with case code 252385 with best by/use by date 2/6/2018 among others. There are a total of 20 OK Food items on the list of recalled products.
USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service said on Thursday that they have identified metal objects in OK Food ready-to-eat products. The metal objects were said to be from parts of metal conveyor belting. And while the metal objects were already identified in the OK Foods recall, there were no confirmed reports of any adverse reactions from consumers.
The Oklahoma food company advised customers to throw away these products or return them from the store where they were purchased. The USDA also advised consumers to contact a health provider for any concerns about injury or illness as a result of consumption of any products part of the OK Foods recall.
