'Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets' Director Luc Besson on Being a Fanboy of Laureline; New Trailer worth a Decade
Many waited for another movie of Luc Besson after seeing some of the most worth watching movies that made. The director spilled that he waited for over a decade to start again making his sci-fi epic movie. Sure it would be one of the worth the wait movies that will hit the theaters for over 10 years and titled "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets."
The movie: "Leon: The Professional," "La Femme Nikita," and "The Fifth Element" has made Luc Besson one of the best sci-fi directors. The long wait is over as this summer, Besson is out with a movie that has been circling on his mind almost in his entire life, Polygon has reported.
"Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" is Besson's next sci-fi movie that soon hit the theaters. The movie's concept was based on "Valerian and Laureline," a French sci-fi comic series that was first published back in 1967 and become legendary. The comic series follows that adventure of Valerian and Laureline as they go beyond across the galaxy.
According to Besson, he started reading the comic series since he was ten and Laureline was his first love. He later than announced after showing the newest trailer of "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" in 3D, that on Tuesday, he will be getting two pages of the story and a whole week for another two, The Verge has reported.
So, at the end of the year, he already had the entire album of "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" and that was the Christmas present. The reason why the movie "The Fifth Element" was made, Besson claimed that he didn't forget the comic series and Laureline, he created instead an adaptation of the movie in 1997.
But out of everyone's knowledge, Besson has started to write the script of "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets" 10 years ago just in case more the technology can catch up. The movie will hit the theaters on July 21 through STX Entertainment featuring Dane DeHaan as Valerian and Cara Delivingne as Laureline.
