'Heroes of the Storm' Update: Fans Finally Gets Some Diablo 2 Love With New Hero Cassia
For several months, players of Blizzard's "Heroes of the Storm" have been demanding for more Diablo 2 love in the game. After a short event in 2015, the game has only gotten a few representatives from the Diablo universe, where most of the existing cast is coming from the third iteration. However, fans would be delighted to know that later today they will be able to give the new Amazon hero, Cassia, a test drive.
This is in addition to the new "Heroes 2.0" beta that features a completely overhauled progression system of the game. According to a report from Destructoid, several beta tester already had the chance to test Cassia out at a recent "Heroes of the Storm" Blizzard event, and although they claim to not be blown away with the new hero, they also think that she will fulfill a comfortable role in a team.
Although Cassia is a ranged assassin, she actually has huge amounts of sustain by way of her trait called Avoidance, where as long as she's constantly moving, she retains 65% physical armor. It can be further buffed into either an extra heal over time or bonus speed in "Heroes of the Storm."
Skill-wise, and speaking of poke in "Heroes of the Storm," her Q ability, Lightning Fury, is a skill shot that will split into multiple bolts. Her W, called Blinding Light, will make it easier to go up against attack damage foes since it is an area-of-effect blind that will also passively buff her damage against blinded enemies in "Heroes of the Storm."
According Game Skinny, Cassia can also use her E, Fend, to either dash or chase other heroes in "Heroes of the Storm," which will follow up with a burst of strikes. Cassia has two ultimates, where both seem viable as one.
Her first ultimate, Ball Lightning, does serious amounts of damage with a ball that bounces up to six times, including herself, including a level 20 upgrade that would allow it to bounce indefinitely. Her second ultimate, Valkyrie, pulls people in a line towards her, which is really useful for dragging someone into your fort/keep in "Heroes of the Storm."
