'Splatoon' 2 Stage Officially Releases Humpback Pump Track
"Splatoon" 2 has officially unveiled its new stage. Know what's in store in the Humpback Pump Track.
According to Game Spot, ESL hosted the Go4Splatoon European Grand Finals over the weekend, but after the winners were crowned, Nintendo of Europe had a surprise in store for the crowd. The console maker unveiled a brand new stage set to appear in the upcoming "Splatoon" 2.
"Humpback Pump Track" is the name of the stage, and it takes place in the middle of an indoor BMX track. Inklings will be able to zip through the stage's "curvy ups and downs," as they trade ink in Turf War. Nintendo's short video introducing the "Humpback Pump Track" can be found after the break.
Humpback Pumped Track is the first new map to be revealed since Splatoon 2's global testfire, which concluded on March 26. That contained two stages: Musselforge Fitness (a huge gym, swimming pool, and climbing centre) and The Reef (a shopping district not far from Inkopolis Square). You can take a look at those in our livestream of the beta here.
As for the brief outline of "Splatoon" 2, Splatoon Tumblr notes,
"Introducing Humpback Pump Track. This new stage is an indoor BMX track, but Inklings use it as a stage for Turf War. It features many curvy ups and downs, and the bike track surrounds a small hill in the middle. You'd think the openness makes for great visibility, but the hump abundance creates a surprising amount of blind spots. Inklings can employ multiple strategies, including frontal breakthroughs or attacking from the side.
Oh... and we just realized that jellyfish can ride bikes? What!?"
Splatoon 2 will be released exclusively for the Nintendo Switch this Summer. It supports Joy-Con controllers, the Pro Controller, and is compatible with both TV and handheld modes. You can even connect up to 10 Switch consoles together for tournament play, if you can find enough stock.
