Apple Mac Pro Finally Updated After 3 Years; Apple Admitted they Took Wrong Direction & Promises An All-new Modular Model
Apple reportedly making its first update to Mac Pro after three years. The giant company confirmed that they are working on a complete rethought of the device with Apple-branded pro displays. The company admitted they had mistaken and promised a whole new modular system. The device also rumored to be launched beyond this year.
Apple Mac Pro pricing and configurations will be updated first time in three long years into Apple's pro-oriented desktop computer. A complete change for Mac Pro and announced the company will be bringing another display to the market beside with the higher-powered iMac.
Apple executives shared and admitted in a recent meeting in Cupertino, CA, that they had taken the 2013 Mac Pro model into the wrong direction. Apple promises to make things right and better this time as they will be introducing a new modular Mac Pro system that has a new iMac model designed toward for professional use and a new external display.
The 2013 Mac Pro model has a current price of $2,999 and for the previous built-to-order 8 core model with a dual D700 GPU price is $3,999. The two models are both equipped with a dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, has a 6 Thunderbolt 2 ports, has a four USB 3.0 ports, and a 256GB PCle-based flash storage.
According to the reports, the previous Mac Pro that is a quad-core model with 12GB of RAM and Dual AMD FirePro D300 GPU is now a 6-core with 16GB of RAM and dual D500 GPU. For the previous 6-core model now becomes an 8-core model with dual D700 GPUs with 16GB of RAM. There is no further hardware update, Mac Rumors has reported.
Apple decided to have a brainstorming and end up with the decision of "rethinking the Mac Pro" because 15% of the users have to use the "pro" apps during the given week. The said test resulted in just a single percentage of Mac users that are Mac Pro customers, according to Phil Schiller, Senior Vice President of Worldwide marketing of Apple, TechCrunch has reported.
Also, as quoted by the report, the display will not be a touch screen. The Mac Pro repricing is now listed on its online store, but the 8-core model is still unavailable. And the new Mac Pro won't be available not until after 2017.
