Bon Jovi Cancels Two Shows This Weekend Due To Bronchitis
"Take two shows off and call the doctor in the morning," this is what frontman Jon Bon Jovi said after he postponed two upcoming shows in New York City as he is currently battling bronchitis, according to his band, Bon Jovi. The postponements for the said Friday and Saturday shows that are supposed to be held at Madison Square Garden are based on a Bon Jovi's Doctor's recommendations.
According to USA Today, the band said in a recent statement that the decision was very difficult to make, but they had to make it for the interest of delivering the full, powerhouse performance for which their lead singer, Jon Bon Jovi is known for. Tickets that were purchased for the Friday show will be honored on Thursday instead, April 13, while the Saturday tickets will be honored next Saturday, April 15.
Jon Bon Jovi has been battling Bronchitis for more than a week already, yet it seems that things have just gone worse. On Wednesday during the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, the band had to end their sold-out show 90 minutes in because of Jon Bon Jovi's troubling sore throat.
Even fans and some critics have been noticing that Jon Bon Jovi had some difficulty singing and hitting some high notes during his performance in the past week or so. During the recent Pittsburgh show, he told the big crowd that he had a sore throat and jokingly asked if anyone from the audience knew all the words to Bon Jovi songs and could fill in for him instead.
Despite that, Jon Bon Jovi promised that the Pittsburg performance "is going to be the last one." According to SF Gate, Bon Jovi issued an apology, saying "I'm sorry we couldn't do the full show tonight," with the end of his statement saying "God bless you all."
The band is currently touring the country in their "This House is Not for Sale" tour. The next upcoming show is scheduled this coming Monday at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Canada.
