Plastic surgery is prevalent in South Korea, so perhaps it rubbed off on a Brazilian student in the country.

Xiahn, a 25-year-old man from Brazil, was an exchange student in South Korea for a year, and he developed a love for all things Korean. That's when he decided to get plastic surgery.

"I put my fingers inside the eye and pulled," he said. "That was the way I wanted to have my eyes."

After 10 operations and more than $3,000 spent, he was happy with the way he looked.

"I guess now, yes, I'm there/ I just need to wait for the swelling (to go down)," he added. "I was not afraid that something would go wrong, but I was afraid to stay with scarring in the eye, and so I did look plastic. But everything worked out. My vision is perfect."

His name was originally Max. On top of the surgeries, he has dyed his hair black and wearing contact lenses to hide his blue eyes. He didn't, however, change the shape of his nose.

"Regardless of religion that the person is, whether or not you believe in past lives, you have only this life, you have to be who you want to be," he said on Facebook.

He has been fascinated by South Korean life since he was 19. He underwent surgery in Brazil. His father supported him, but his mother was not as understanding.

He also spoke about South Koreans getting plastic surgery.

"It was easy to tell when one of them had done it, walking on the street wearing sunglasses and a surgical mask," he said. "I have no regrets, and I don't intend to have any more procedures."
