Sometimes the best way to conquer hate is with a good sense of humor. 

That's what country star Brad Paisley proved over the weekend when he decided to make light of a Westboro Baptist Church protest outside of his concert in Kansas on Sunday, June 1.

According to the Tennessean, the 41-year-old award-winning singer spotted a group of Westboro Baptist Church protesters picketing his show that was scheduled in a nearby amphitheater later on that night.

The demonstrators stood on the side of the road in Bonner Springs with signs that said, "God hates drunks," "Sin breeds violence," and, "God Controls All."  However, instead of getting upset or offended by the group, Paisley decided to seize the opportunity to snap a photo of the rally by posing with the protesters in a selfie that he posted on Instagram and Twitter, along with the caption: "Westboro Baptist Selfie!! Or west-Burro(*ss) selfie. Hopefully they can hear the show out here. We'll play loud."

He also posted an Instagram video of himself asking the group to gather around for his selfie. Ironically, the ralliers seemed delighted to be in a picture with the star.

Although the religious hate group was more than likely rallying against the singer's hit records "Alcohol" and "Celebrity," Rolling Stone reported that Paisley doesn't drink.

Back in March, the notorious extremist group picketed singer Lorde's show in Kansas City, explaining that the pop star is "teaching young people how to be indolent rebels."

In September 2013, Vince Gill confronted WBC protesters who were demonstrating outside his show in Kansas City in protest to his divorce from his first wife and remarrying.

"You're lucky you don't have a sign that says something about my wife," Gill told them in a heated exchange. "You know what else [Jesus Christ] said? He said a lot about forgiveness, about grace. You guys don't have any of that."
