It's amazing that with all the success Macklemore has garnered throughout his short time as a rapper that fans still can't seem to recognize who his sidekick, DJ and producer for his music is.

The two are often seen together and Macklemore has never been shy to credit his success to his partner, Ryan Lewis.

In fact, when Macklemore won "Best New Artist" at the Grammy's this year, Lewis was by his side as Macklemore thanked fans for "our" -- not "his" -- win.

Regardless, it was quite apparent on Jimmy Fallon's show that fans still aren't too familiar with who exactly Ryan Lewis is.

Jimmy Fallon took a page from Jimmy Kimmel's book and sent Ryan out on the streets of NYC to ask fans about who they thought Ryan Lewis was.

In April, Kimmel had rapper Drake talk to fans in disguise to get a glimpse of what people really thought of the Canadian rapper.

This time around, Fallon had Lewis dressed as himself to speak to Macklemore fans and they still couldn't figure out who he was.

Billboard.com reports that one New Yorker described Lewis as Macklemore's "package deal" who "comes with Macklemore a lot."

Another fan says that Lewis works onstage with "computers and whatnot."

And one girl couldn't recognize Lewis at all, even when he showed her a photo of him posing with Macklemore.

Despite the many failed attempts at trying to get people to recognize him, Lewis did get one girl to reveal that she thought Lewis was better looking than Macklemore.

Though some parts of the video may have been a bit cringe-worthy to watch, Lewis was a good sport throughout it all.

Perhaps, after watching this clip, fans will have a better time recognizing Ryan Lewis other than "the guy who works with the computers."
