Gina Rodriguez does it again with a Controversial Race-related Social Media Post

Gina Rodriguez, an actress on CW's "Jane the Virgin" had turned a spark into a raging fire after posting a video on a social media platform. The video includes Gina Rodriguez using the N-word to a Lauren Hill rap section. Later on, she deleted the controversial video. Subsequently, she posted a new video where she apologized for the people whom she may have offended from her now-deleted video. She included in the apology video a promise for self-reflection in the near term.

Gina is Puerto Rican by blood. In the past, she had been involved in controversies involving the black community and racism. There was a time when she caused a campaign against Latin women and Black women because of her anti-Black remarks.

The recent incident of Gina Rodriguez using the N-word shows the wide-use and shared claim on the N-word by many Latin communities in the US. The incident had put emphasis and lengthened the gap between the two groups.

In some urban communities all over the country, Black and Latin groups live closely with each other and separate from the white community because of historical racism. This may be one of the reasons for the ease of using the N-word by non-black communities.

In diversified neighborhoods, problems and issues on discrimination and racism are collectively aimed and resolved by these groups. This is a reason for the shared distress of black and Latin community on racism and discrimination.

For long years of living together in mixed communities in the US and separate from the white population, most famous Afro-Latin famous and non-famous citizens are being criticized for their right to use the N-word.

In the countless mix of the race brought about by the ease of migration to the US, many US citizens are products of mixed races. Some Latin populations identify themselves as Latin and some as Afro-Latin. For those who shared to the public of their Afro-Latin heritage, they don't get scrutinized for saying the N-word. While those who only claim their Latin heritage is criticized.

In modern times, the N-word is being used in a lot of American music especially on the genre of hip hop. This word had become common in songs that it is being regarded by some of the youth with no knowledge of its real meaning as a word not subject to no criticisms. Most mixed-race youth communities are not bothered with who uses the N-word.

These are some of the speculations that may have affected the previous actions of known personalities with Latin blood using the N-word. Gina Rodriguez using the N-word is not the only incident where a celebrity with Latin heritage that had resulted in controversy after uttering or singing the word. There are other celebrities with mixed Latin and African heritage that had shared the same inconveniences and shame after uttering or using the N-word. Communities should disregard racism and discrimination. They make efforts to learn how to live harmoniously.
