The Mexican 23-year-old fitness trainer and model Alondra Getsemani Villaseñor was discovered in a grisly state by her mother at her own home in Tijuana. The Mexican fitness model, who worked in a local gym, was found dead on Sunday with several stab wounds and a gunshot wound in the head.

In a report from the Fox News, according to the Herald Mexico it was her mother who found the body of her daughter at the victim's home at the South of California in Obrera Tercera Sección neighborhood, located in northwestern Mexico's Baja California state.

The worried mother of the Mexican fitness model went to check on her after she tried to contact her daughter but received no response at all. The authorities said that the Villasenor was already dead when her mother arrived, and it is assumed that she appeared to be dead for at least 24 hours. 

Meanwhile, according to Mexico's state-run news agency Notimex, a 9mm bullet casing and suspected two bags containing marijuana were found by the investigators in the crime scene. A witness also told the investigators that they found a red vehicle who is suspected to be the killer left, which the house of the Mexican fitness model shortly after the incident. Moreover, the investigators found no motive in the said killing hence there were no arrests made, as per Fox News.

This alarming incident just adds up to the murder rate in Tijuana. Earlier this November, The Guardian reported that the murder rate in Tijuana is increasing. According to the data gathered by the Guardian that in 2018 around 2,518 murder crimes were recorded and this year around 1,800 murders were recorded in the city.

Overall, Mexico has recorded a total of 14, 603 murders in the first six months of the year 2019 and is expected to surpass the record last year which is 29,111.

Meanwhile an ongoing investigation is made by the police and there are no suspects or arrests were made. The investigators added that they cannot still establish the motivation of the crime and what they only have is the 9mm bullet case and the suspected two bags of cocaine. 

The Executive Secretary of the National Public Security System said in a separate statement that the Mexican Fitness Model is the 155th woman who have been murdered in Baja California this year. Aside from the fact that Baja has the highest murder crime rate, it is also fourth on the list when it comes to the murder cases involving women as the victims. 

The increase of murder crimes involving women as the victims is a significant problem. It can be recalled that was reported on August that the country has the most number of murder crimes, an estimated 17,000 people were murdered in the first half of 2019. It is the highest level of murder rate in its history. This means that an average of 90 people are killed everyday.

The number of murdered people does not include other crimes such as kidnappings, drive by shooting, cartel, and gang related problems in the country.
