According to officials in Brazil, the United States Government will be piloting its program called "global entry" which will primarily cater to Brazilians who want to travel to the country. This program allows travelers from Brazil to have their clearances accelerated for approval. This applies to those Brazilians who have a low threat to the nation such as businessmen and students.

Brazilian entrepreneurs and their representatives travel multiple times to the United States of America. This group of people has longed for this program since the year 2012. The Global Entry Program (GEP) allows easy entry to the United States airports to low-threat travelers from Brazil.

President Jair Bolsonaro of Brazil's lead staff member had released a statement saying that the GEP will soon commence. There will be twenty Brazilian businessmen who will do a dry-run on the program to check the workability of the system used.

The GEP is under the authority of the United States' Customs and Border Protection (CBP). Upon the entry of the Brazilians to US territory, they will be asked to stop over a booth where their fingerprints will be acquired and they will be asked to input information in a declaration form from the Customs and Border Protection.

The other citizens of the following countries are also allowed to participate in the GEP: India, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Argentina, Mexico, Columbia, Britain, Panama, Germany, and Switzerland.

The current leader of the United States, Donald Trump, and his administration had released an official announcement on making a way for the less-risky citizens of Brazil to be included in the GEP. The announcement was made when the President of Brazil attended a meeting with him in March this year.

Based on the Global Educational Exchange -Open Doors Report issued to the public in 2019, Brazil takes 9th place in the globe as a principal country that allows its students to study in the US. 16,059 Brazilian students enter US territories for their studies and these numbers increase yearly by 9.8 percent.

The CBP had also given an official statement regarding its plans to update the process of applications for some of the organization's reliable programs for travelers.

According to the United States of America's Travel Association, it was a win-win decision to include Brazil in the GEP because more and more people (who are a lesser-threat to the country) will have ease in traveling to the United States for vacation and spending on shopping sprees thus improving the US economy.

In the year 2017, approximately two million Brazilians go to the US yearly. These people had already spent an amount exceeding $7 million every year.

Recently this year, the country of Brazil had already removed the need for US citizens to acquire a tourist visa to travel to Brazil. Other countries that were also given this privilege were Japan, Australia, and Canada.

The Brazilians who are allowed to avail of the GEP are still required to acquire a visa to legally travel to the United States of America.
