Indiana parents welcome twins who were born on a different day, month, and believe it or not, decades.

Dawn Gilliam and Jason Tello, a couple in Indiana, thought that it would be cool to have twins who were born in different decades. Joslyn Grace was delivered on Dec. 31 at around 11:37 p.m. and she was the last baby who was born at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel Hospital in 2019. Thirty minutes later, Dawn delivered Jaxon DeWayne at around 12:07 a.m. and making him the first baby born in the hospital in 2020.

Meanwhile, Tello said that they are still speechless and overwhelmed. Having two babies born in different decades is such a very rare event. MSN News reports that it was not an easy road for the couple. Gilliam had high blood pressure and thought that she might have an early delivery as Thanksgiving day.

In another report, Gilliam said that everyone in the delivery room was very excited. Gilliam added that the twins have distinct personalities. She said that Joslyn is a daddy's girl. She also explained "She won't hold my finger, but she will grip onto Jason's and the other day, when I was holding her, she opened her eyes, squinted hard and then shut them. I gave her back to Jason and she was happy again."

Joslyn was born weighing 4 pounds and 11 ounces, while Jaxon was born weighing 4 pounds and 7 ounces. The babies will remain in the hospital until Feb.19.

The delivery of the twins was unexpected. Gilliam had an unplanned visit to the hospital after the lack of fetal movement during the New Year's eve. During the press conference at the hospital, Jason Tello said "We talked about it would be great to have them born on different dates. But here we are with this surprise - different dates, different years."

Meanwhile, the couple said that they are expected to be born seven weeks after the New Year's eve or on Feb.19, their due date. However, when they visited the hospital she felt that they need to be delivered during that time. In knowing who will be delivered first, Gilliam said "We've known for a while that she was going to be born first and she's been in the position for most of the pregnancy. Of course, he was breech. So, it took a while for him to come."

Moreover, it was confirmed that both twins and Gilliam are doing well and if this continues they might be going home early. Gilliam said that she can picture out now how they will celebrate their future New Year's eve. It will be a celebration of the twins' natal day and a small family gathering.

Dawn Gilliam and Jason Tello are also raising their 10-year-old and 5-year-old boy. Having an additional member in the family who was born in different decades is surely a great journey for the family. Gilliam added that she will continue to become a stay-at-home mom.

Jason Tello, her husband, has just recently quit in his job and is now working in his growing business. He builds structures for the entertainment industry.
