What made a celebrity a star is not about the number of times that they appeared in news outlets, magazines, or tabloids. Not even on the number of awards received. Or even the number of followers that he or she has in her or his social media account. But, it is about having a star in Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Despite the rarity of accepting diversity in Hollywood, 10 Latinos made big in the industry and got a star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. If you don't know them, here are some of them:
1. Christina Aguilera
Christina got her Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame way back 2010, she was awarded a Star of Recording. There are many reasons why she deserved to have the star and some of them include her four number-one singles on the Billboard's Hottest 100 chart, won five Grammys and has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.
2. Selena Quintanilla
Selena Quintanilla got her star in 2017. Since the award happened years after her death, it was her family who attended the ceremony while her sister helped design her star. No one can question why she should be included in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. A few of her awards were Female Vocalist of the Year at the Tejano Music Awards for nine consecutive times, Top Latin Artist of the 90s in the Billboard Magazine, Bestselling Latin Artist of the Decade, Top Latin Album of the Year and Female Artist in 2016. No doubt that she must be included in the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
3. Guillermo del Toro
Guillermo del Toro has just recently received his Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. But, he deserved to have it because of his contributions to the industry. His most recent film "The Shape of Water" made it on the Golden Globes and won awards including in the BAFTAs, DGA, PGA and Oscars for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Score and Best Production Design.

Antonio Banderas has received his Star in 2005. He is known for his skills in acting, directing, producing, and singing. He also holds the highest salary as an extra in the film "Gladiator" where he was paid $50,000. No wonder why he is recognized in the Hollywood industry.
5. Gloria Estefan
Gloria Estefan has received her Star in 1983 because of her talents as a recording artist. She also won seven Grammy awards and is included in the top 100 best selling music artists of all time. She has sold more than 90 million albums worldwide.

Shakira is one of the most influential Latina in the world who impacted a lot because of her music genre. Even though her full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, she is one of the celebrities who has one name engraved in the Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She received several awards and that include 12 Billboard Latin Music Awards, seven Latin Grammy Awards, and two Grammys. These testify already why she got a Star in 2011.
7. Andy Garcia
Andy Garcia got her Star in 1995 because of his ability in acting. He was nominated for Best Supporting Actor in the Academy Award for his part in "The Godfather Part III," He is also known for the part he played in "Ocean's Eleven," "Ocean's Twelve," and "Ocean's Thirteen."
8. Luis Miguel
Luis Miguel got his Star in the Hollywood Walk of Fame way back 1996. He is known for his mariachis and his boleros. What led him to the Walk of Fame was his five Grammy Awards that he received when he was just 26 years old.
