Mother of Missing Children, Seen Island Hopping With New Husband
Lori Vallow, the mother of two missing children from Idaho, has been spotted on the Valley Isle after spending time in Kauai with her new husband Chad Daybell. According to Hawaii News Now and East Idaho News, she has been spotted on a plane with Daybell on Sunday, traveling from Kauai to Maui. East Idaho News also reported that the couple has been seen living in a gated community, checking in at some resorts, and riding around Kauai on a bike.
And while Vallow was having a good time, the whereabouts of her two children remain unknown. Her children, seven-year-old Joshua and 17-year old Tylee, have not been seen since late September of 2019 but have only been reported missing to the police in December.
Last October, Daybell's ex-wife, Tammy Daybell, was found dead "due to natural causes". Some time after her death, Lori and Chad got married. This prompted authorities to think that the new couple is involved with the children's disappearance. In January, Vallow was given an order to bring the children to court. After failing to do so, being on vacation, she was warned with contempt of court for failing to meet the court-ordered deadline.
But that is not the only mess on this web. Joseph Ryan, the biological father of Tylee Ryan, died in 2018 apparently due to heart attack. In July of last year, Lori's ex-husband Charles Vallow, traveled from Arizona to Texas to see his family. However, when he got there, Charles and Lori got in a fight, which prompted Alex Cox, Lori's brother to put a bullet in Charles' head. And last December, Cox died for a reason that is yet to be understood, pending the autopsy report from the police.
Authorities say, however, that all these occurrences do not show connections to each other for now. University of Idaho assistant professor Samuel Newton supported this rationalization, saying that although the circumstances indeed appear suspicious, the prosecutor of the case still requires concrete evidence to file criminal charges.
"I'm willing to bet what everyone is trying to do is get enough evidence to get an arrest and prove some sort of felony," Newton said. He also added that what police want for the meantime, is to avoid filing any charges because it will just get dismissed due to lack of evidence.
"The rules of evidence don't typically allow us to judge a person based on their past conduct," Newton explained. "You're supposed to judge them on the facts of this case."
Sean Bartholic, the lawyer of the couple, released a statement describing Daybell as a loving husband and Vallow as a devoted mother.
Moreover, it was also found out that Vallow and Daybell have both written and published books on apocalyptic events and near-death experiences. This adds to the speculations that their way of thinking might be somehow connected to the incidents.
Many speculations are surrounding the death of her former spouse and the loss of her two children. However, despite many questions about why the couple is still not arrested, it is because the police have not yet established concrete evidence that will link the couple to the loss of the case.
