Cancun Airport Strenghtens Preventive Measure Against Coronavirus
Cancun International Airport strengthens its preventive measures to avoid the entry of the infectious coronavirus that has affected more than 70 countries around the world.
The infectious coronavirus is one of the growing concerns of almost all countries around the world. This virus led some countries to set precautionary measures to control its spread.
In China alone, where the virus originated, they have locked down one of their provinces by not allowing anyone to get inside or to go out of the province.
In the previous report of Latin Post, China's Director of Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Yang Gonghua, said that the right thing to do is to lock down Hubei province in the hope of controlling the spread of the infectious virus. Yang also added that if this will not be done, infected people will seek medication outside the province and can be the cause of a global epidemic.
However, the infectious virus has already spread across the globe. It has recorded thousands of death and many are still under observation and quarantined in the hospital.
The effect of the infectious virus is very devastating. There were schools who decided to shut down, some businesses have to decrease their employees due to loss of income like hotels and airlines, medical supplies like surgical mask are running out of stock, even NBA needs to advise its players to avoid high-fives and not to take items for autographs, and among others.
This time, the top airport in Latin America and the Caribbean, the Cancun International Airport, decided to strengthen its preventive measures to avoid the entry of the coronavirus.
According to Mexicanist, during the meeting which was spearheaded by the National Health early this week together with the airline's committee, they decided to close the ranks and drill will also be conducted on how to care for a passenger who is suspected carrying the virus. They believed that this will help prevent and control the entry and spread of the virus in the country.
The preventive measures in the airport were decided after the United States of America restricted the entry of passengers from China for a few weeks. Moreover, there were other countries also who did the same in the hope to control the spread of coronavirus.
The infectious virus has also negatively impacted the global economy. Latin Post is one of the news outlets who first reported a detailed economic impact of coronavirus in the region's economy. Weeks after, it was reported in different national news sources that establishments of countries who are affected with the virus decided to shut down and global trades were also reportedly affected.
Moreover, state secretary of health Alejandra Aguirre Crespo has been in close coordination with the representatives of airlines that have direct flights in countries that have confirmed cases of coronavirus 2019.
The move of the Cancun International Airport is a great way to prevent the spread and entry of the infectious virus. This is also to make sure that the country is virus-free most especially that many are planning to visit Mexico's best tourist spots. This action is expected to be emulated by other airports in the country.
