Demi Lovato is back with a powerful new single, "I Love Me."

The Cool For The Summer crooner dropped the new single and accompanying music video on Friday. The song delves into her journey against drug addiction and eating disorder.

The 27-year-old singer faces her demons in the opening minutes, putting her fight training on display as she duels with another version of herself.

Demi also includes a nod to her beginning by including street performers that closely resemble her time on the Disney movie Camp Rock alongside the Jonas Brothers.

She also gives a subtle shoutout to her ex Wilmer Valderrama who was her support system after her OD in 2018. A Wilmer doppelganger was shown running across the street with a woman in a wedding gown---a reference to his recent engagement to model Amanda Pacheco.

Demi also acknowledged her near-fatal overdose in the video by putting a hand on a body that's being whisked away on a stretcher.

In an interview on New Music Daily on Apple Music, Lovato said the track was meant to be an anthem about "loving yourself" as the title suggests. She also shared insight on negative self-talk and how "hard we are on ourselves."

The singer also said she's still finishing up on her album which, at its current stage, doesn't have a tracklisting. She also shared the album will revolve around the subject of self-love and body positivity.

I Love Me is definitely a power anthem with super catchy lyrics and a deep message. Watch it below!

Road To Sobriety

Lovato sat down with Ellen Degeneres on Thursday and opened up about her sobriety and the factors that led to her OD in 2018.

Ellen Degeneres started the conversation strong by sharing to the audience Lovato's former management's controlling way. She revealed the singer's former team hid all the sugar in the dressing room whenever Demi would visit her show.

Demi acknowledged the claim. She also shared more details about their ways such as monitoring her order at Starbucks, removing her phone from her hotel room so she couldn't order, as well as taking fruits away because they "contained added sugar."

The star also shared she'd never eaten a birthday cake for years until she turned 27. "For many years, I didn't even have a birthday cake. I had a watermelon cake, where you cut your watermelon into the shape of a cake and you put fat-free whipped cream on top and that was your cake."

She said her worsening bulimia and her team splitting up led her to abandon her 6-year sobriety and drink. She was hospitalized three months later.

Lovato said she completely takes responsibility for her overdose. She also encouraged other people battling addiction and eating disorders to take ownership of their problems so they can get better.

"I think it's important that I sit here on this stage and tell you at home or you in the audience or you right here that if you do go through this, you yourself can get through it."
