Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain Release Rumors: Trailer Leaked Ahead of E3
Last night, a trailer for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain leaked.
It was up for a few hours before it was pulled, though it is still available in some corner of the Internet. The YouTube video gave viewers a small peek into the game.
The Phantom Pain, which is a follow up to Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, starts off with a Mark Twain quote: "Anger is an acid that can do more harm to the vessel in which it is stored than to anything on which it is poured." The slow, mysterious music sets up the dramatic scenes. The nearly six-minute trailer shows off impressive, realistic graphics and really sets up the viewer.
At the end of the video, someone says, "I will scatter your sorrow to the heartless sea. I will always be with you," according to Forbes. Also toward the end are emblems for Outer Heaven and the Diamond Dogs.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain has not yet been given a release date, but it is possible that this information could be revealed during this weeks E3. At last year's conference, Hideo Kojima's game wowed gamers with an extended trailer featuring impressive graphics and an open world. The game is being developed for the Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox One and Xbox 360.
The footage is likely to be officially available soon.
The series is known for relying heavily on long cinematic sequences to tell its complicated story, and the trailer gave players more of the same. The scenes were seemingly slowed down.
The trailer also allows gamers to become more familiar with Kiefer Sutherland, who took over the role for Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes, released earlier this year, and Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
