iPhone 6 Releease Date, Rumors, Features, & Specs: Leaked Photos Emerge; When Will Apple Unveil the Newest Smartphone?
The iPhone 6 could be called the iPhone Air. That's because it is expected to be the thinnest iPhone ever.
Recently, photos of what is said to be the next iPhone have leaked on various websites.
Nowhereelse.fr is a French technology website and they have reportedly been reputable with their photo leaks in the past. The website has published several views of the new iPhone and claim it is authentic.
In this image from June 8 (below), NoWhereElse shows the back of the newest iPhone. It looks a lot like the HTC One, doesn't it? With the rounded curves and the line at the bottom. The phone is reported to be all metal.
Power button moves from top to side?
Additional leaked photos from NoWhereElse show the side view of the new iPhone. The volume buttons look like they will stay on the left side, but above them is the power button. This has always been found on the top of iPhones. Perhaps this change was requested by iPhone customers over the years or maybe Apple just wanted to switch things up. Remember, the change from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 5? It included moving the headphone jack from the top of the phone to the bottom.
Look how thin the new iPhone looks! That silver button near the top is the power button, which is expected to move from the top of the iPhone to the side, joining the volume buttons.
Comparison View?
A Taiwanese singer and actor has posted an image that appears to be an iPhone 6 next to an iPhone 5S. The singer, Jimmy Lin leaked the iPhone 5 in the past and also had an early photo of the 5C before it's release. Check out the photo, the iPhone 6 is said to be on the right (in grey) next to the iPhone 5S (in black).
Release Date?
German phone firm Deutsche Telekom, owner of T-Mobile, is already telling customers the date of Sept. 19 for the new iPhone release. The company told call center workers to tell customers the date of the release in order to prevent them from switching carriers.
This could be a great guess as to the actual release date of the new iPhone. Apple usually releases its new iPhones on Fridays and Sept. 19 is a Friday.
In 2012, the iPhone 5 came out on Sept. 20, so this date seems to make sense.
Conclusion
A thinner, faster, and bigger screen on an iPhone will lead to a great day of sales for Apple on Sept. 19 (or near that date). Will you be buying a new iPhone this fall? Leave a comment below.
