Memorabilia and candles sit in Microsoft Square near the Staples Center to pay respects to Kobe Bryant after a helicopter crash killed the retired basketball star.

Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna and seven other individuals would still be alive today had the pilot considered several text messages about the poor weather condition just hours before the flight.

Records show that the flight coordinator had asked Ara Zobayan, the aircraft pilot, through text about the weather forecast on Bryant's flight schedule.

"Just checked not the best day tomorrow but not as bad as it is today," Zobayan said according to a recently published article in CNN News.

Moreover, it was also found that a group text was always made before Kobe Bryant's scheduled flights to keep everyone in communication.

Kobe Bryant Could Have Canceled the Flight

According to a recently published article in the Associated Press, the personal assistant of Kobe Bryant Cate Brady told NTSB investigators that Bryant would not pushed back if his flights were canceled due to poor weather condition.

Meanwhile, the Island Express said that it had no problems with canceling the flights. They also said the six canceled flights of the Los Angeles Clippers Kawhi Leonard and one for celebrity Kylie Jenner that would have used the same helicopter.

The company also mentioned that they have canceled around 150 flights last year due to poor weather conditions and 13 cancellations this year or two days before Kobe Bryant's fatal death.

Brady also shared that the original schedule of Kobe Bryant's flight was 9:45 in the morning but he had it rescheduled at 9:00 a..m because he wanted to see another team play before his daughter's game.

Vanessa Bryant Sued the Pilot and the Company

Vanessa Bryant, the wife of Kobe Bryant, sued the pilot, the Island Express, and the owner of the company because of their negligence.

During a star-studded public memorial held before 20,000 people in Staples Center, where Kobe Bryant spent two decades of his career, she said that the pilot should not have flown in those poor weather conditions and should have decided to abort the flight.

Meanwhile, Zobayan's brother responded in the court and said the Kobe Bryant knew the risks of helicopter flying and that the survivors are not entitled to the pilot's estate.

On the other hand, the Island Express has also denied responsibility for the fatal helicopter crash and called the incident as an "Act of God" and beyond their control.

Autopsy Results

Results of the autopsies released last month showed that Zobaya did not take any drugs or alcohol during the time of the incident.

The investigator also said that all nine passengers died due to the impact of the helicopter crash and not due to the fire that followed.

Kobe Bryant's death in January this year shocked everyone around the world. The NBA Legend left a mark of inspiration to his fans across all ages and made him their inspiration in their Basketball journey.
