'Dumb & Dumber To' Trailer Released; Sequel Comes 20 Years After Original Hit Film [Watch]
Get ready to experience true nostalgia.
Following 20 years since its original release in 1994, "Dumb and Dumber's" sequel, "Dumb and Dumber To" is gearing up to give fans the crude humor we all grew to love in the original.
"Dumb and Dumber" tells the story of Lloyd Christmas (played by Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne (played by Jeff Daniels). The actors play two loving but not-so-bright-friends from Providence, Rhode Island who set out on a cross-country trip to Aspen, Colorado to return a briefcase full of money to its owner.
However, during their cross-country trip, the dimwitted duo is pursued by a group of criminals who are after the briefcase. And thus, the drama and silliness unfolds.
Forbes.com reports that the "Dumb and Dumber To" trailer debuted on the "Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on Monday.
Both Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels will reprise their roles as Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne. The Farrelly Bros. who directed the original "Dumber and Dumber" movie will also be returning in the director's chair for the sequel.
So what can we expect from "Dumb and Dumber To?"
Well, according to Rolling Stone, the "To" trailer features all of the gross comedy we know and love from the original.
The trailer starts off with Jeff Daniels' character, Harry Dunne, visiting Carrey, who has been in a paralytic state since the first movie.
In the trailer, there is a catheter being yanked out, a cat's butt being flaunted, and an old lady tricking Jim Carrey's character, Lloyd Christmas, into fingering her.
Funny, right? Well, if you're a "Dumb and Dumber" fan, you might think so.
"Dumb and Dumber To" has been in the works since mid-2013, according to Rolling Stone. During last year's Emmy awards, Jeff Daniels hinted that fans could expect the sequel to be like watching "Dumb and Dumber" on steroids.
"We're going to do things in Dumb and Dumber To that make the [original] toilet scene look lame -- pales in comparison," he said on the red carpet. "I can't divulge what [the new scenes are], just that they've topped it."
